With the globe's carriers still felling the effects of the economic downturn, the annual word airliner census finds that there has been little change in the size of the fleet since last year. New aircraft deliveries are being offset by the increasing numbers of jets being parked or retired as airliners turn to modern aircraft and jettisson their ga-guzzling, inefficent machines. The biggest decline hasbeen in the ageing Russian fleet.
