На основі підходу Аппеля побудовано математичну модель плоского руху однорідної важкої кулі у сферичній виїмці без ковзання. Сферичну виїмку жорстко закріплено на пружному стержні, який здійснює малі вільні коливання відносно свого положення рівноваги.

Mathematical model of the plane movement of heavy homogeneous ball in spherical groove without sliding had been built on the base of Appell's approach. Spherical groove has been fixed hard on the elastic rod which carry out small free oscillations about own position of equilibrium.
