У статті досліджено особливості раннього періоду творчості видатного сучасного англійського драматурга Гарольда Пінтера. Розглянуто подібність та відмінність п'єс Пінтера творів континентальних драматургів-представників театру абсурду. Проаналізовано такі стильові та структурні риси творів Пінтера як система персонажів, драматичний діалог, хронотоп та ін.
The article concerns peculiarities of the early period of creative work of the famous modern English playwright Harold Pinter. It also regards the similarities and differences of his plays in comparison to the works of continental theatre of the absurd. It is analyzed such stylistic and structural features of Pinter's plays as the system of characters, dramatic language, time and place of action etc.
