В роботі розглядається історія створення асимптотичних методів та їх розвиток стосовно дослідження нелінійних коливань і задач математичної фізики. Показана роль механіко-математичного факультету КНУ в поширенні ідей цих методів шляхом видання українською мовою навчальних посібників, що рекомендуюся для вивчення у державних університетах України.

The paper deals with the history of creating of the asymptotic methods and their development concerning the investigation of nonlinear oscillations and the problems of mathematical physics. Here presence the participation of the mech.-math. department of the KNU in spreading these methods through the publishing text-boob byUkrainians language to be advisable for studing in Ukrainian State universities.
