Стаття присвячена аналізу національної історії як складової національної ідентичності. На думку автора, у визначенні останньої особливо важливим є аксіологічний аспект - не лише об'єктивні складові у вигляді мови, культури, походження, історичної спадщини, а й ставлення до них. Принциповим слід вважати ставлення до минулого, яке визначає інші аспекти національної свідомості. Боротьба різних українських національних ідентичностей є боротьбою різних концепцій національної історії.
The article focuses onthe analysis of national history as an element of national identity. The author stresses that in defining the latter the particular importance is drawn to axiological aspect, id est., such objective elements as language, culture, generation, historical heritage, as well as the attitude towards them. The attitude towards the past, which determines the other aspects of national consciousness, shall be envisaged as the principle one. The struggle of different Ukrainian national identities is a struggle ofdifferent visions of national history.
