Анотація:
The production of ceramics in China has a long history and anchient origins, rich in cultural significance and symbolism. This introductory overview covers the history and techniques of Chinese ceramics, the intertwining of such history with Chinese civilization at large and the role of ceramics in export trade and cultural exchanges. The two separate chapters, on pottery and porcelain which are each unique and nonetheless closely related in their historical evolution, highlight their glorous achievement an d enchanting appeal.
