Анотація:
The paper presented at the 30-th IATUL Conference discusses the issues of collection development at the University of Maryland, College Park campus libraries. These issues include the ways of influencing changes in collection development policy upon academic process and research activities. It describes innovative ways the librarians attempt to overcome arising complications with, i.e. searching and promoting free resources like using pay-per-view business model instead of subscription and others.
Особенно интересен и полезен список бесплатных и опробованных библиотечных материалов. Конечно, пользование ими предполагает знание английского языка, но кто же из современных ученых его не знает?.
