Статтю присвячено розробці визначення поняття "екстрадиція". В ній проаналізовано складові частини поняття, міститься порівняння різних підходів і запропоновано свій погляд на визначення. Автор пропонує наступну дефініцію: видача - це процес, який грунтується на міжнародних угодах, нормах національного законодавства з дотриманням загальновизнаних принципів міжнародного права і полягає у наданні державами правової допомоги у вигляді передачі особи державою, на території якої вона перебуває, іншому уповноваженому суб"єкту міжнародного права для притягнення її до кримінальної відповідальності або виконання винесеного вироку суду.
The article is devoted to the development of the definition of the term "extradition'. It contains the analysis of the components of the definition, the comparison of different approaches in this regard and the author's own variant of the definition. According to the author, extradition should be defied as a process based on international treaties, norms of national legislation following universally recognized principles of international law, that consists of providing legal assistance by states in a from of handing over of a person by a state on whose territory this person is present to another authorised subject of international law aiming at calling the person to responsibility or to execute issued court sentence.
