Предметом даної статті є конкретні кандидатські й докторські дисертації з журналістики кінця XX століття, присвячені дослідженню української періодики. Крок за кроком у роботі простежується процес висвітлення історії та проблематики досліджень українських видань, аналіз періодики епохи тоталітаризму часів перебудови та сучасного стану, дослідження періодичних видань української еміграції та іншомовних часописів, а також перспектив розвитку періодики.
The subject of the present article is the specific Ph. D. and doctoral theses on journalism of the end of the XX century devoted to the research of the Ukrainian periodical. The process of highlighting of the history and the problems of Ukrainian editions' research, the analysis of the periodical overthe epoch of totalitarianism, the period of Perestroika and the contemporary state, the study of the periodical editions of the Ukrainian emigration and foreign language periodicals and also the perspectives of development of the periodical, is gradually observed in the thesis.
