Ложка належить до тих предметів, що мають символічне й побутове використання, відповідно – й два семантичні плани: профанний та сакральний.
Численний фольклорний та етнографічний матеріал демонструє зв'язок ложки з
певною особою та використання її у обрядах як предмета ритуального, що може
бути посередником між світом людей та світом предків.
One of the important images of the Ukrainian mythology, a spoon, is considered. Spoon
is a magic talisman for its owner, but when the spoons owner dies, it becomes dangerous
for other people. Plural folklore and ethnographic material demonstrates an individual
character of the spoon and its connection with the definite person. Spoons were used in the burial rituals and in the fortune tellings as the communication channel for the deads.
