Essential features as well as social and cultural factors of Ukrainian Identity (as a combination of Ukrainian national character and mentality) of Volodymyr Antonovych in the complicated conditions of revival of Ukrainian nation in the second half of XIX century are revealed. Critical analysis of V. Antonovych's ethno-political ideas about essential features of Ukrainian and Russian nations, their nature and content in relationships is done.
