Розглянуто роль Михайла Грушевського у процесах становлення й інституалізації східноєвропейських історичних студій у німецькомовному академічному середовищі. Відзначено здійснені ним заходи по виокремленню історії України як складової східноєвропейськоїісторії.
The author defines the role of Mykhailo Hrushevsky in the process of institutionalization of the East-European Studies in the German-speaking academic milieu. His measures directed to the emphasizing of the history of Ukraine as a part of Eastern European history are also shown.
