Розглядаються редакційні зміни, проведені в 1974 р. при виданні повісті Володимира Короткевича “Каштанове листя”. Аналіз виявлених правок свідчить про те, що вони викликані ідеологічними причинами радянського часу, а також невмінням редактора вникати в автор - ський задум і його некомпетентністю в лінгвістичних питаннях при редагуванні.
The editorial changes which have been carried out in 1974 at the edition of the story of Uladzimir Karatkevich “Leaves of chestnuts” are considered. The analysis of the found editings testifies that they are caused by the ideological reasons of Soviet time, and also inability of the editor to penetrate into an author's plan and its incompetence in linguistic questions when editing.
