The building of a fuzzy hydrometeor classifier based on polarimetric radar measurements is described in this paper. Five polarimetric radar measurands, namely, horizontal reflectivity factor Zh, differential reflectivity factor Zhv, linear depolarization ratio LDR, specific differential phase Kdp, cross-correlation coefficient phv(0) serve as inputs of the fuzzy hydrometeor classifier. The ouput of the fuzzy hydrometeor classifier is one of five hydrometeor classes: 0) No hydrometeor; 1) Drizzle; 2) Graupel; 3) Snow; 4) Rain; 5) Hail.
