The comparison of two Doppler spectrum estimation methods used in airborne weather radars is considered in this paper: traditional periodogram method and modern autoregressive method. The weather signal reflected from rain at the outputof radar receiver is simulated and is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the two methods.
