We've illustrated the experimental (laboratory and industrial) research energyloading and destructionof rims of brake pulleys in metal-polymer friction pairs of band-block brakes ofdrawworks. Objective: justify the formation and development of cracks on the working surfaceof the rim of brake pulley at the micro level, based on its complex stress state. We have consideredthe following questions: evaluation of energy loading of metal-polymer friction pairs ofband-block brake in an industrial environment; circulation of thermal currents in the brake pulley;nature of origin and development of cracks on the working surface of the rim of a pulley;evaluation of thermal stress state of pulley of rim in the laboratory conditions and determinationof stress cracking resistance and wear of the working surfaces of the rims of pulleys.
