В статті аналізується сучасне бачення сутності та видів міжнародних конфліктів. Автор наголошує на необхідності дослідження основних конфліктів в сучасній Україні, причин їх виникнення і динаміки розвитку, а також впливу на них трансформації суспільно-політичної системи.

In the article there is examined the modern vision of the essence and kinds of international conflicts. The author paid attention to the necessity of the studying conflicts in modern Ukraine, causes of its arising and dynamic of development, as well as influence of transforming social and political system. Streltsov Toward the issue of the essence and kinds of the international conflicts In the article the modern vision of the essence and kinds of international conflicts areexamined. The author paid attention to the necessity of the studying conflicts in modern Ukraine, causes of its arising and dynamic of development, as well as influence of transforming social and political system. While analyzing international conflicts in general they can be divided in diplomatic disputes; territorial claims; economic contradictions; armed conflict (even war). The author also underlines that these conflicts can be classified in a more detailed way: classic, territorial, not territorial (among which ethnic, national, religious). Specificity of international conflicts is defined according to the following: their subject is represented by states or coalition; in the base of these disputes is a clash of national and state interests of the parties; modern international conflicts influence international relations both locally and globally; international conflict means danger for the lives of huge amount of people around the world. The author mentions that there is a need towork out more general theories, conceptions that may be able to give general mutual definitions of such complicated social phenomena, to set common features and characteristics.
