В статті досліджуються питання поняття інформаційної безпеки України, стан її правового регулювання, аналізуються основні загрози і виклики, які виникають у суспільстві у зв'язку з розвитком інформаційного суспільства та акцентується увага на потребах вдосконалення системи інформаційної безпеки держави на законодавчому рівні.

Sopilko Information threats and safety of a modern Ukrainian society In this article the author researches the concept of the information security of Ukraine, the condition of its state of regulation, analyzes the main threats and challenges that arise in society due to the development of the information society and focuses on the needs of improvement of the state information security system on the legislative level.A modern period of the civilization development can be characterized by the society's transformation from industrial into informational. Nowadays information becomes a special kind of goods and resources of modernity, an object of legal relations, its importance increases; all that cause an interest for the topic of the research. The author also underlines that mentioned in the article problem is extremely actual for the Ukrainian society, as well as for the scientists, since the professionals look for the answers concerning cyber security issues, availability of objective information, protection of the average citizen from information attacks, etc. The fact that the problem of information securityis paid so much attention nowadays is caused by existing information threats that greatly activated in the informational society. It's emphasized in the article that the absorption of an individual by information technology takes place in the informational society, where mental freedom and even personality are lost for the material wealth. Moreover, the author calls to beware that a person may turn into appendage of informational technologies and resources. To sum up, the author points out thatwith the aim of preventing information abusing and for the protection of the informational rights, a modern state of national and informational security of Ukraine provision requires scientifically reasoned state politics and strategy in this field, determination of national values' system, important for the life interests of a person, society and state, definition of external and internal threats to these interests, search for the effective ways of security ensuring in all of its spheres, protection from informational threats and realization of rights to receive accurate information.
