Considerations are given to the historic process of aviation development and its main stages in Ukraine, starting with aviation societies and the first flights at the beginning of the XX century, continuing with formation of the first airlines and the establishment of civil aviation as one of the most important branches in the economy of Ukraine its status at the turn of the century.
