In this article is considered the legal and technical basis of low sulfur motor fuels production in the European Union (EU) countries and Ukraine from the point of view of petroleum processors.The carried out research of the modern tendencies in motor fuels production has allowed to draw a conclusion that the ecological aspect has priority significance. Influence of ecological factor on petroleum refining industry investments abroad lead to the conclusion, that for Ukraine it is desirable to make a prior development ecological motor fuels production.
