The data of rain observation are analyzed. The data were acquired by TARA radar system at Cabauw, located in the centre of The Netherlands. Comparison with theory and modeling is performed. The results confirm that spectral differential reflectivity - a new Doppler-polarimetric observable is really correlated with the intensity of turbulence measured simultaneously in the same radar resolution volume. Recommendations concerning the applications and further researches are given.
