- Анотація:

The purpose of this work is to validate the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to study natural ventilation in a Spanish "parral" type greenhouse. Results of the simulations were verified by comparison with previous field tracer gas measurements. The experimental work was conducted in a 5 span "parral" type greenhouse (38 x23.2 m) located at the Experimental Station "Las Palmerillas". For the CFD simulations, a steady two-dimensional flow was generated around the model. Mass and momentum equations, together with a two-equation turbulence model, were solved in the program using the finite volume method. The most typical roof vent configuration in this greenhouse type were studied: flap windows, together with the influence of wind direction (windward vs leeward). The effect of two different turbulence models (standard k-epsilon and RNG model) was also studied.
