Статтю присвячено вивченню етапів розвитку архітектурно-планувальних та структурних видозмін першого київського готелю підвищеного комфорту. У дослідженні, спираючись виключно на існуючий історичний
матеріал, робиться спроба вперше комплексно проаналізувати “життєвий”
шлях готелю “Європейський”, який вплинув на формування нового класу
“елітних” готелів Києва другої половини ХІХ — початку ХХ ст.
The article is dedicated to the studying stages of the development
of architectural, planning and structural modifications of the first luxury hotel
in Kyiv. For the first time, the attempt is done to analyze comprehensively “the
path of life” of the hotel “Yevropeysky” which had an impact on the formation
the new class of “elite” hotels in Kyiv in the second half of the XIX-th century —
the beginning of the XX-th century. The research is based exclusively on the
preserved historical material.
