Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the creativity of honored artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Sydoruk, in particular, to the most significant part of his creative experience – landscape. Volodymyr Sydoruk's multifaceted
artistic heritage is primarily a chamber and panoramic landscape: mountain, forest, marinistic, floral, urban
and rural landscapes, architectural and garden-park landscapes. The artist unleashed complex compositional
schemes, painted poetically and delicately. His landscapes are epic in manifesting and romantic in painting.
At the examples of famous landscapes by V. Sydoruk, which, in our opinion, reveal the theme maximally accurately, the critical analysis of the artist's works has been carried out together with the analysis of the topics
that were chosen most often by him at different stages of his creative life. As a result of the research, several
principal trends were revealed in Volodymyr Sydoruk's creativity: preference to plein-air painting, quick painting, predominance of large-format works. His landscapes are not very detailed, not photographic, mostly drawn
in the impressionistic manner of painting, but the coloristics is quite natural therein. An important detail is
saturated atmospherity and rich air plan. The individual style is kept in realistic manner, yet the master often
experimented. Today, the artist’s name is not well known to the general public, much of his creative heritage
is still under-researched by art critics. And it’s despite the fact that Volodymyr Sydoruk's works are stored at
many museums of the world, in famous private collections, they are often exhibited at modern art auctions.
The creative works of Volodymyr Sydoruk, who lived and worked in the Soviet era, were included in the art
treasury of Ukraine as brightly Ukrainian, academic and grounded in their range of artistic means and presented themes, his creative heritage is a precious achievement of the Ukrainian people, object of national pride,
thus requiring deeper, more systematic professional development and reflection.
