Abstract:
Мета статті полягає у дослідженні особливостей малярства оригінального за іконографією храмового
образу з дрогобицької церкви Воздвиження Чесного Хреста та віднайденні стилістичних аналогій до цього
твору в українському іконописі XVI ст. Проаналізовано попередні праці Людмили Міляєвої, Лева Скопа та
Володимира Яреми, присвячені іконографії та стилістиці дрогобицького образу. Оцінено пропозиції дослід ників щодо датування твору. Досліджено іконографію та стилістику дрогобицької ікони, виявлено її харак терні художньо-стилістичні риси. Спостережено стилістичні аналогії між іконою Воздвиження Чесного
Хреста та творами осередку, визначеного Марією Гелитович як «коло майстра іконостаса з Поляни». Здій снено зіставлення ікони «Воздвиження Чесного Хреста» з Дрогобича та окремих образів з «кола майстра
іконостаса з Поляни». Окрім стилістичної спорідненості зауважено спільне тяжіння до оригінального
тлумачення традиційної іконографії. Припущено, що дрогобицьку ікону виконав один з іконописців «кола
майстра іконостаса з Поляни», але за фахом належний до «другої лінії» митців. Сформульовано гіпотезу
про можливий зв’язок митців «кола майстра іконостаса з Поляни» із самбірсько-дрогобицьким осередком,
що активно діяв у другій половині XVI ст.
The aim of the article is to investigate the peculiarities of the main icon from the Church of the Elevation of the
Holy Cross in Drohobych and to find stylistic analogies to this artwork in Ukrainian icon painting of the sixteenth
century. The researches of Liudmyla Milyaeva, Lev Skop, and Volodymyr Yarema, devoted to the iconography and
stylistics of the Drohobych image, were analysed in this text. The researchers’ proposals regarding the dating of this
icon were also evaluated. The iconography, stylistics, artistic manner of the Drohobych icon were studied. Stylistic
analogies between the Drohobych icon of the Elevation of the Holy Cross and the group of icons defined by Maria
Helytovych as «circle of the Polyana village iconostasis master» were observed. A comparison of the Elevation
of the Holy Cross icon from Drohobych with some images of the «circle of the Polyana iconostasis master» was
made. In addition to the stylistic affinity, a common tendency towards the original interpretation of traditional
iconography was noted. It was assumed that the Drohobych icon was made by one of the «second line» icon painters
of the «circle of iconostasis master from Polyana». A hypothesis about the artists’ of the «circle of the Polyana
iconostasis master» connections with the Sambir-Drohobych workshop (active in the second half of the sixteenthth
century), has been formulated.
